St Bride’s, (“The Cathedral of Fleet Street”), is the latest of a number of churches that have stood on the site over the past 2000 years. For the last 500 of those years it has been the spiritual home of printing and the media. In this picture the spire, which it is said inspired the shape of today’s wedding cakes, is reflected in the black facade of 121/128 Fleet Street, (more commonly known as The Daily Express Building), an Art Deco masterpiece by Ellis Clarke and Sir Owen Williams, built in 1932.
