The Queen’s London: a pictorial and descriptive record of the streets, buildings, parks, and scenery of the great metropolis in the fifty-ninth year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria – 1896:

Sir Christopher Wren’s first thought was to build St. Paul’s Cathedral in the shape of a Greek cross, but the great architect was overruled, and the present long nave and choir are the result.
