London Pubs – Alan Reeve-Jones, 1962:

Today at the Anchor you can still see the very handy Shakespeare Room, so called because Shakespeare used to drink in another pub nearer the Globe Theatre.

[ On a recent visit I could find no trace of the Shakespeare Room but I did find the above ‘painting’ hanging in the Dr Johnson’s Tea Room. R.D.]
