On the evening of September 7th 1888 Annie ‘Dark Annie’ Chapman, 47, went out to earn the money for a room for the night by prostituting. She was last seen alive early the following morning, drunk on the streets. Her body was found later, her killer had nearly severed her head from her body and had mutilated her by cutting out her bowels and leaving them on the ground next to her. She was the second of the five confirmed victims of the notorious serial killer Jack the Ripper. R.D.
